For a holistic development of a child, there is a need of emotional, physical, spiritual and moral development that is complemented and supplemented by co- curricular activities. At NPS, academic excellence and co-curricular activities go hand in hand. Through various co-curricular pursuits such as dance, music, painting, quiz, debates, yoga, sports, art and craft - children develop the skills of leadership and teamwork. Students are encouraged to actively take part in intra-school and inter-school competitions. Sports and Games Sport is an integral part of the curriculum at NPS, Yelahanka. Football, basketball, volleyball, throw ball and cricket are taught by our coaches during the Physical Education sessions. The students are also exposed to athletics. Yoga We at NPS Yelahanka have Yoga as an integral part of the schedule at school. We believe that students, especially at the higher classes are going through conflicting emotions and different levels of stress. Yoga helps children reduce stress, cope with difficult emotions and calm their mind. Children who are exposed to yoga earlier in life are able to better control their emotions as adults. The breathing exercises and simple yoga techniques help in optimum blood circulation which keeps the student energetic throughout the day helping them to concentrate better and have more mental focus. Yoga helps improve inner strength, patience and builds confidence in them. Other than it being a part of the regular time table for all students, we also have regular Yoga assemblies every Wednesday.
