Competition Overview

  • Participants : Grades: 9, 10, 11 and 12
  • Team Composition : 8 Students + 1 Narrator [one team per school]
  • Duration : 10 min
  • Theme : Storytelling Through Dance
  • Topic : Society and Social Issues
  • Dance Form : Folk / Classical


  • Only the first 10 entries/registrations will be accepted.

Rules and Guidelines

  • Use of narration, voiceovers and poetry is allowed if it supports the storytelling.
  • Music and lyrics must be appropriate for a school audience.
  • Teams must submit their audio track in advance by 15th July, 2026.
  • A backup copy should be brought on a USB drive.
  • Props will not get extra credit.
  • Dangerous, sharp, flammable, or messy materials are strictly prohibited.
  • Film music, songs with objectionable lyrics are not allowed.
  • Participants must respect time limit and event rules.
  • Offensive, obscene, indecent exposure or inappropriate movements are not allowed.
  • Exceeding time limit may lead to point deduction.
  • Decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Judging Criteria

Relevance to Theme and Social Message

  • Clear identification of a social issue or societal theme.
  • Accuracy and sensitivity in portraying the issue.
  • Impact and effectiveness of message.

Storytelling and Narrative Clarity

  • A well-structured story with a clear beginning, development, climax, and conclusion.
  • Effective use of characters, emotions, and symbolism.

Creativity and Originality

  • Innovative interpretation of the chosen issue.
  • Unique choreography and storytelling techniques.

Choreography and Composition

  • Quality and complexity of dance movements.
  • Expression and Stage Presence

Synchronisation and Teamwork

  • Coordination among performers.
  • Timing and rhythm.
