Competition Overview
- Participants : Grades 7, 8 and 9
- Team Composition : 3 Students [one team per school]
- Duration : 75 min
Rules and Guidelines
- Participants must create a Rangoli design that incorporates Mathematical concepts.
- The design should be original and not copied from existing artwork.
- The participants must be able to explain the Math behind their design.
- Participants must use only natural or eco-friendly materials like coloured powders, flowers, sand, or chalk.
- Stencils or pre-drawn outlines are not allowed.
- Use of rulers or compasses for precision is allowed, but excessive mechanical aids will result in point deductions.
- The maximum area allotted per team: 4ft x 4ft.
- Participants will be given 75 minutes to complete their rangoli.
- Late submissions may result in point deductions.
Selection Criteria
Mathematical Concept
- Clear representation of Mathematical ideas.
Creativity and originality
- Unique and innovative use of Math in Rangoli.
Symmetry and precision
- Neatness, balance and accuracy of the design.
Aesthetic Appeal
- Overall design, colour combination and presentation.
Explanation and Relevance
- Team’s ability to explain the Math behind the design.
