Competition Overview
- Participants:
- Team Composition : 3 students from each category [one team per school]
- Duration : 60 min
- Category 1: Grades : 7 and 8
- Category 2: Grades : 9, 10, 11 and 12
Rules and Guidelines
- Theme & Concept: Models should be based on Mathematical concepts such as Geometry, Algebra, Calculus, or Real-life Applications of Math.
- Model Specifications: The model must be accompanied by a brief description. It can be static or working, but it should clearly demonstrate the Math concept.
- Materials: Participants may use cardboard, wood or other eco-friendly materials.
- Pre-made kits are NOT allowed.
- The use of electrical components is permitted if relevant, but must be safe and pre-approved.
- Each team will get 60 minutes to assemble their models.
- They will be given 5 minutes to present their model to the judges.
- The explanation should cover the Mathematical principles, real-world applications, and creative aspects.
- Participating teams must submit the synopsis by 10th of July, 2025.
- Models that promote offensive or controversial content will be disqualified.
- Prohibited Items : Flammable, hazardous, or sharp objects.
Selection Criteria
Mathematical Concept
- Relevance, accuracy, and clarity of the Mathematical concept demonstrated in the model.
Creativity and Innovation
- Originality, uniqueness of idea, and innovative approach in presenting the concept.
Presentation & Aesthetics
- Neatness, visual appeal, labelling, and overall design quality.
Application & Practicality
- Real-life application or usefulness of the model in understanding or solving problems.
Explanation & Understanding
- Clarity of explanation, depth of understanding, and ability to answer judges' questions.
